Stranded!

While working as a contract design assistant at Barefoot Books, I worked as the lead designer for the children's picture book Stranded! A Mostly True Story from Iceland. This included assisting in the art direction of the cover and interiors, as well as the typographic layout of the hardback, paperback, and special trade editions of the book.

 

This work was created in collaboration with the author and illustrator, as well as with Barefoot Book’s editorial and design team. This included Senior Editor Kate DePalma and Editorial Assistant Erin Lueck, and Design Director Sarah Soldano. Stranded! has received a Kirkus starred review and was named a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard selection. It will be published in August 2023.
